Group CEO at BenchMatrix LLC., one of the fastest growing financial technology solutions and services company in the MENAP region, he is on a mission to accelerate organisational transformation rooted in technology at a global level.
Over the years, Nabeel has worked on the digital transformation of various large scale IT and non-IT businesses in Pakistan. From automating processes to embedding a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making, he has been instrumental in helping organisational leadership navigate their way to growth and profitability; Technopsis, Nirala Group of Companies, Sufi Steel Industries, Shapes, Stylo, and The Superior Group, to name a few.
An ICF certified business and executive coach, Nabeel has coached a number of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and C-Level executives in Pakistan's IT industry, enabling them to effectively lead and transform their organisations.
A believer in the IT sector’s potential to uplift Pakistan economically, tech has always been the focal area of his work in both government and private sectors. Working closely with the Government of Pakistan, he led the effort of drafting Punjab’s first IT policy in year 2016. As the Strategic Advisor to Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Program (2021) and Member Advisory Committee of the Planning Commission on ICT Government of Pakistan (2022), Nabeel contributed significantly in the introduction of multiple technology, entrepreneurship and skill-development initiatives for the country’s youth.
Impact being at the nexus of whatever he does, Nabeel is amongst the pioneers of entrepreneurship ecosystem in Pakistan. With the Government of Punjab under the umbrella of Punjab IT Board, he established the country's first tech incubator (Plan9), accelerator (PlanX), and co-working space (TechHub Connect). During his tenure at PITB, he not only enabled 165 tech startups to launch and scale but also made freelancing in IT services a household affair. He set up Pakistan's first and largest chain of freelance training centers (eRozgaar) that trained over 13,500 young individuals in digital skills.
With the mission to showcase Pakistani entrepreneurial talent worldwide, Nabeel worked closely with the U.S. State Department and City of Austin, Government of Texas, US. Over the years, he has assumed various roles in the international arena such as Chairman of Commonwealth Youth Innovation Hub Pakistan, Chair of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Entrepreneurship Project for Pakistan, and Board Member of Commonwealth Youth City Global Initiative.
Recognising investment as the next step in propelling local startups towards scalability, Nabeel played a pivotal role in gravitating international VCs to Pakistan and convincing local angel investors to support homegrown startups. To make entrepreneurship and investment mainstream, he conceptualised and led Pakistan’s first business reality show, 'Idea Croron Ka'. The show enabled 42 startups to raise PKR 510 Million as investments. Endorsed by Facebook & USAID SMEA, Idea Croron Ka was also premiered in the USA and Russia.
Previously, as the CEO of DirAction, a tech human resource capacity building and recruitment company, Nabeel worked fervently to catalyse the growth of Pakistan’s IT industry. He enabled the country's IT companies to maximise growth by transforming their existing human resource into human capital and equipping them with a pool of well-rounded, young tech professionals who are ready to deliver.
To date, he has authored two books. Where ‘This Book Is About YOU’ helps individuals find the best version of themselves, ‘This Book Is About PAKISTAN’ takes the reader on a unique journey of understanding ‘freedom’ in its real sense.
